Josephine County, Oregon- On June 11th, 2024, first responders were dispatched to Reeves Creek Road in Josephine County where a motor vehicle crash claimed the lives of two individuals. The incident, reported at 3:08 pm, involved a white 1997 Lexus Sedan, driven by Paige Ellen Collyar, aged 20, with passenger Shannon Marie Hewitt, aged 34.
Lieutenant Jim Geiger of the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that prior to law enforcement’s arrival, medical responders had pronounced both Collyar and Hewitt deceased at the scene. Evidence gathered indicated that the vehicle, traveling north on Reeves Creek Road, had been moving at a high speed when it failed to negotiate a curve, ultimately veering off the roadway and colliding with a tree.
The next of kin for both victims have been notified of the tragic incident.
Assisting agencies included the Illinois Valley Fire District, American Medical Response, Oregon State Police, and Jerry’s Towing, who responded promptly to the scene.
As of now, no further details regarding the crash are available. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident remains ongoing under case number 24-12665.
