One Individual Hospitalized in Jacksonville Area House Fire

Jacksonville, Oregon- Yesterday, at 5:30 PM, ECSO 911 operators received several calls regarding a house fire just outside of Jacksonville, on Hueners Lane. Multiple metro fire departments were dispatched to the scene. Jacksonville Fire Department (JVFD), Medford Rural Fire Department (MRFD), Applegate Valley Fire Department (AVFD), and Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) all had crews on scene assisting.

Authorities say the fire was contained to a single structure, and there was no additional damage to surrounding properties.

However, at 6:30 PM yesterday, it was confirmed that one individual was transported to a Medford area hospital via Mercy Flights, due to burns sustained during the incident. The individual’s condition remains undisclosed at this time.

Fire investigators were on scene throughout the night and are expected to be back today, focusing on determining the origin and cause of the fire. Authorities say the collaborative efforts of the all agencies were crucial in managing the initial situation.

During the overall firefight, there were no reported impacts to surrounding roads in the area.
