Winter Weather Power Outages Impacting Thousands in Southern Oregon


Medford, Oregon- Across Southern Oregon, Pacific Power is working to resolve power outages affecting thousands of residents. Winter weather conditions, including heavy snowfall and freezing rain, have resulted in disruptions to electricity supply, leaving households without essential services.

At present (10:30am), around 3,310 residents remain without power as restoration efforts continue. Early estimates for power restoration vary by location, with some areas in the Applegate region anticipated to have electricity restored by 1 p.m. However, timelines for other areas are contingent on the extent of damage and accessibility for repair crews.

Pacific Power has mobilized its teams to assess and address the damage caused by the inclement weather. Crews are navigating challenging conditions, including icy roads and fallen debris, to expedite the restoration process and minimize inconvenience to affected customers.

While the restoration efforts are underway, residents are advised to exercise caution and patience. Emergency services are on standby to provide assistance to vulnerable populations and ensure the safety and well-being of communities impacted by the outages.

8:30pm Update: Approximately 1400 customers are without power at this time.
