WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING.
- WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of up to 25 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph.
- WHERE…For the Watch, elevations above 3000 feet in Jackson County, including Tiller Highway (227), highway 62 above Shady Cove, and highway 140; Also Douglas County, including highway 138 above Toketee Falls and highway 230.
- WHEN…For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Monday night through Wednesday evening.
- IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS…1″/hour snowfall rates are currently forecast above 4000 feet most of Tuesday from 10 AM through Wednesday morning.
- Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
- Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
