The spookiest time of the year is just around the corner, and Ashland is gearing up for a Halloween extravaganza. On October 31, 2023, the Children’s Halloween Parade promises a ghoulishly good time for all, with a few special considerations for the event.
The parade is set to begin at 3:30 PM, and the starting point is in front of the Ashland Public Library. Little ghouls, ghosts, and witches will march west along Main Street, adding a dash of enchantment to this picturesque city. A section of Main Street, specifically between Gresham Street and Water Street, will be temporarily closed from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM to ensure the safety of participants.
For those navigating the city during the festivities, Lithia Way will be temporarily adjusted to accommodate two-way traffic needs within the downtown corridor.
As is tradition, downtown Ashland comes alive on Halloween night as revelers from across the valley gather to celebrate. Due to the expected increase in nightlife activities, the Ashland Police Department will be joined by law enforcement personnel from surrounding agencies to maintain order and ensure everyone’s safety.
Organizers say authorities will be strictly enforcing laws related to disorderly conduct, public intoxication, consuming alcohol in public, open containers of alcohol in public, curfew violations, illegal drug use, and any other violations of state law and municipal code.
The City of Ashland Police Department emphasizes the importance of a safe and enjoyable Halloween celebration for all residents and visitors.
