Earlier today, the Illinois Valley Fire District, in collaboration with AMR-Josephine County, Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County, Grants Pass Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), responded to a fiery two-vehicle accident on Hayes Hill.
Arriving at the scene, emergency units discovered two vehicles in the northbound lanes of US199 that had collided, with one vehicle coming to rest on the shoulder and ablaze.
The swift response of the emergency teams played a vital role in containing the fire and ensuring the safety of the individuals involved.



Firefighters extinguished the flames while providing immediate medical care to both drivers. Following a thorough assessment, one person was transported to an area medical facility by AMR for further treatment.
The Oregon State Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine its cause.
