Ashland Transient Accused of Stabbing Man in Park

A Jackson County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Thai Webb, a 45-year-old transient in the Ashland area, on multiple charges including Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

This indictment stems from a distressing incident that unfolded on August 30, 2023, at approximately 9:45 p.m. According to the investigation, both the suspect, Thai Webb, and the victim were transient residents in Ashland, and they found themselves inside a motorhome parked in a public area near North Mountain Park.

An argument between the two individuals escalated, culminating in Webb allegedly stabbing the victim multiple times with a knife. Following the attack, the victim was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Webb, however, managed to flee the scene before law enforcement arrived. Nevertheless, the efforts of the Ashland Police Department led to Webb’s arrest on August 31, 2023.

Upon apprehension, Thai Webb was charged with Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and he currently remains in custody with a bond set at $100,000.

The Ashland Police Department received assistance from various law enforcement agencies, including the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Phoenix Police, and Ashland Fire and Rescue, throughout the investigation and the pursuit of the suspect.
