Two Arrested for Murder of Man Near I5 in Southern Oregon

The Oregon State Police, acting as the lead investigating agency, has made significant progress in the murder case near the I5 milepost 101 interchange, where Joshua Alexander (34) of Roseburg was found deceased on June 25, 2023. After an extensive investigation, the Douglas County Major Crime Team has apprehended two suspects linked to the crime.

On July 20, 2023, Allen Lloyd Swindler (36) of Sutherlin was arrested in connection with the murder, followed by the arrest of Sierra Sioux Jennings (34), also from Sutherlin, on July 26, 2023. Both Swindler and Jennings have been charged with Murder and are currently in custody at the Douglas County Jail.

The Oregon State Police has been designated as the lead investigating agency due to the crime scene being located within an ODOT right-of-way, and they have worked collaboratively with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Roseburg Police Department, and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab as part of the Douglas County Major Crime Team.

As the investigation remains active and ongoing, no further information is available for release at this time. Authorities continue their efforts to piece together the events surrounding Joshua Alexander’s death and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and aid in the investigation.

Updates on the case will be provided as they become available.
