Dog of the Week: “Gunnar” Ready for New Loving Family

UPDATE: Gunnar has been adopted by a loving family!

Gunnar, a delightful and energetic 2-year-old canine with a charming personality, is eagerly looking for a forever home. Weighing in at about 50 pounds and boasting a beautiful charcoal-colored coat with adorable antenna ears, Gunnar is an eye-catcher at the Jackson County Animal Shelter.

Originally cared for by a loving owner, Gunnar found himself in need of a new home when his previous caregiver lost her residence and could no longer provide for him. Despite being a bit shy at first, Gunnar quickly warms up to people and thrives on the affection and attention they offer.

This handsome pup already knows essential commands such as Come, Off, Sit, and Stay, showcasing his potential as a well-trained canine citizen. Gunnar’s playfulness and affectionate nature make him the ideal companion for an active family willing to match his enthusiasm and provide the necessary training.

While Gunnar’s former owner praised him as a cuddle bug who adores his people, he should be in a home without cats or other small animals. He craves a space where he can flourish and receive all the love and care he deserves.

If you’re seeking a devoted furry friend to join your family, don’t hesitate to check out Gunnar at the Jackson County Animal Shelter. For more information or to arrange a meeting, please contact the shelter at 541-774-6654 and press 5 for adoptions.
