No Injuries Reported in Central Eastside Medford House Fire

A residential fire on the 2800 block of Crystal Drive in the central eastside of Medford has been successfully extinguished by firefighting units. The initial fire call at 3:38p as Medford Fire and Medford Police raced to the scene. Smoke was witnessed rising from the area and was seen from around the east Medford area.

All occupants of the structure evacuated prior to first responders’ arrival. The fire also spread to a nearby tree. Firefighters worked the incident fir a total of approximately 3 hours.

As the situation improved, some units started to be released from the scene. However, a few units remained on-site to aid the fire investigator in determining the origin and cause of the fire.

Preliminary findings suggest that the fire originated on the exterior of the structure and subsequently spread to the eaves and attic spaces. Further investigation is underway to confirm these indications.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the fire. Medford Fire chaplains are providing support to the affected occupants, assisting them in finding temporary accommodations.
