Family of Four Escapes Overnight Fire Unharmed

In the early hours of this morning, Applegate Valley Fire District (AVFD) emergency services were called to a distressing scene as flames engulfed a detached garage/shop in the 7000 block of Upper Applegate Road. The incident, which occurred shortly after midnight, required immediate action from first responders.

Upon first arrival, fire crews met a structure fire with three covered parking bays that were fully consumed by the inferno.

While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities have refuted rumors suggesting fireworks as the culprit. A thorough examination will be conducted to determine the true cause behind this incident.

Miraculously, the four occupants of the house were unharmed. One of the adults awoke to the alarming commotion, alerting the rest of the family. Thanks to their swift response, all family members and their pets were able to escape the danger unscathed.

Despite the intensity of the fire, firefighters managed to contain the blaze, ensuring it did not spread to neighboring structures. Their quick work resulted in no injuries to any personnel involved, as well as no damage to AVFD equipment.
