Woman’s Truck Goes into the Rogue River While Trying to Elude Police

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to a stolen vehicle report in the 100 block of Savage Creek Road, located in rural Grants Pass. At approximately 7:20 p.m., authorities were informed about the incident and soon after, the Rogue River Police Department located the stolen truck on Rogue River Highway. However, when they attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect chose to attempt to evade them.

The suspect then abandoned the truck at Whispering Pines RV Park but neglected to put it in park, causing it to crash into the nearby Rogue River. Despite this, law enforcement successfully apprehended the female suspect.

During the initial encounter, the suspect provided false identification details, and her true identity will be determined once she is lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

A local tow company is in charge of recovering the crashed truck. As the investigation unfolds, JCSO says further details regarding this incident will be forthcoming.
