Officer Andrew Cartwright, a member of the Medford Police Department (MPD) recently displayed his commitment to serving the community when he responded to a call about an elderly woman stranded at the North Medford Wal-Mart. The woman, who had no means of transportation from her care facility, had been waiting at the store for several hours.
Upon arriving at the scene, Officer Cartwright immediately sprang into action, recognizing the urgency of the situation. With the assistance of RVTD, a valuable community partner known for their readiness to lend a hand, Officer Cartwright swiftly arranged for a transport to pick up the stranded woman. This cooperative effort showcased the exceptional support provided by RVTD, as well as Officer Cartwright’s resourcefulness in seeking help from community partners.
In a heartwarming display of compassion, Officer Cartwright personally accompanied the elderly woman to the bus stop on Lear Way. Ensuring her safety and well-being, he walked her to the waiting bus, making sure she boarded and could begin her journey home. This act of kindness and attention to detail exemplifies Officer Cartwright’s commitment to going above and beyond in serving the citizens of Medford.
MPD remarks this incident is just one example among many of Officer Cartwright’s daily acts of selflessness and dedication to the community. His actions exemplify the qualities of a true servant leader, inspiring others and setting a high standard for public service.
