One Person Hospitalized After Early Morning Shooting in NE Medford

On early Saturday morning, June 10th, at 1:20 A.M., the Medford Police responded to report of shots fired in the area of Cedar Links Park in northeast Medford.

Multiple neighbors called in the disturbance and upon police arrival, they located multiple involved subjects and learned that one victim had been transported by private party to a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Medford Police detectives responded to the scene and have been working the case throughout the weekend. At this point, detectives are working to identify suspects and track down witnesses and involved vehicles.

Police are aware of multiple photos, videos and narratives that are being shared via social media. Officials say often times the sharing of unverified or speculative information can hamper an investigation. Medford Alert has been sent several of these videos and pictures of the incident and have decided not to include them in this article, per law enforcements request.

At this time, MPD is not releasing video or photos of the incident. Detectives believe that this incident was not a random occurrence and that there is not a threat to the general public.

No arrests have been made in this case. Medford Police say they will provide updates if further information becomes available or public assistance is needed.
