Yesterday, at approximately 5:27p, 911 dispatchers received a call of a house fire in White City. The caller believed a room in their house had caught fire. The house is located on the 7900 block of Ajax Ave.
Units from Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3), Medford Fire (MFD), Jackson County Sheriff’s (JCSO), and Mercy Flights (MFI) all responded to the scene.

The original call was upgraded to a structure fire with possible entrapped, after an individual went back into the house (after evacuating) for an unknown reason. That subject was able to reemerge from the house without assistance.
The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters and there was no spread to surrounding houses or vegetation. One person was being assisted by medical personnel on scene, but their injuries were considered minor and were not transported to the hospital.
A Fire Marshal was also at the location, investigating the fire, but at this time there is no cause.
Ajax Ave was closed down to through traffic for about 90 minutes.
