The Central Police Police Department (CPPD) is warning the public of an ongoing scam that is pretending to be from their department.
CPPD officials remarked, “If we were to sell any items or request donations for any reason, it would be clearly listed on our Facebook page or website. Please visit those sites if you have any questions as to the validity of any message you may receive related to us as they are often scams.”
If you receive a text message, email, or any other form of communication from someone claiming to be selling an item from CPPD, officials say it is a scam. Do do not click links in these types of messages as they could be dangerous.
