ODF crews are responding to a fire approximately three miles north of Hog Creek County Park outside of Merlin in Josephine county. The fire is estimated to be four acres and is burning on steep terrain.
Rural Metro Fire is joining ODF on the fire line as mutual aid, as both agencies are putting in an aggressive initial attack with numerous engines on scene and more responding.



No homes are threatened at this time. The cause of this fire is under investigation. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
Please be aware that fire can start and spread easily in the hot weather and windy conditions expected today.
UPDATE: ODF and Rural Metro has finished containment and mop up of the wildfire. There is no current threat to surrounding structures or vegetation.
Officials named this incident the “Hog Creek Fire.” It was GPS mapped at a total of 2.75 acres.
