Pedestrian Dies in Crash on I5 at Exit 30 in North Medford

The northbound lanes of Interstate 5 are closed at milepoint 30 for a crash investigation.

Unconfirmed reports state a white truck collided with a pedestrian on freeway. The driver remains on scene as the investigation proceeds.

The closure includes the Exit 30 on ramp at the intersection with Crater Lake Highway (OR62).

Motorists should expect a lengthy closure.

Avoid the area and use alternate routes.

9:25p Update: Medford Alert reached out to an Oregon State Police spokesperson and they confirmed that one pedestrian has died as a result of this crash.

The individual died on scene and was not transported to the hospital. No additional information is available at this time as it is early in the investigation and next of kin notifications have not been made yet.
