Earlier today at approximately 8:42a, an Oregon State Trooper was involved in a critical incident on Interstate 5 northbound, near milepost 254.
The incident included an Officer Involved Shooting and a suspect is deceased.
Traffic is impacted in the area, with all northbound lanes on I5 in the area closed. ODOT has a detour in place.
The Marion County Major Crimes team has been activated and Salem PD is the lead investigating agency.
At this time, no additional information was released by officials.
