At approximately 8:01p tonight, 911 dispatchers at Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon (ECSO) received a call reporting their garage was filled with smoke. The caller stated that everyone had been evacuated from the attached house on the 2400 block of Delta Waters Rd in northeast Medford.


Medford Police (MPD) were first on scene and confirmed an active garages fire. Two additional MPD units were dispatched to close all eastbound and westbound traffic on Delta Waters between Springbrook and Woodbriar.




The caller warned firefighters that there were propane tanks inside the single vehicle garage.
Eight Medford Fire (MFD) units were initially dispatched to the fire.
Upon arrival, MFD personnel began an offensive approach on the garage fire in hopes of saving the overall single story residence.
Firefighters working in shifts as they cycled out oxygen tanks and took quick rests between their assaults on the garage fire.
Overall, the fire was contained shortly after arrival. Firefighters then transitioned to overhaul and mop up of the damaged garage. Pacific Power also had a truck on scene assisting MFD with power to the structure.
There were no reported injuries and the house is believed to have suffered only smoke damage, while the garage did suffer some noticeable damage.
Delta Waters was reopened shortly before 9p tonight. MFD officials requested an on-call fire investigator to the scene to assist with their investigation.
