Three-Alarm Fire Near Downtown Medford Injures One

Multiple fire and emergency crews responded to an early morning fire at an apartment complex located at 335 S Ivy Street on Saturday morning.

Upon initial arrival, the apartment was heavily involved and was quickly upgraded to a third alarm fire, allocating more resources. In total, seven engine companies and one ladder truck worked to get the fire under control.

One individual was rescued from the apartment and has been transported to the hospital.

The fire is currently under control but due to building damage, multiple crews remain on scene to address hot spots. Fire investigators are on scene and working with Medford Police Detectives. A cause is unknown at this time.

10th Street from Holly to Oakdale is currently closed as crews to continue to work in the area.

The initial call for service was received by ECSO Dispatch at 3:38 a.m. Fire Station 12 personnel were dispatched to the fire at 3:40 a.m. and crews arrived on scene at 3:43 a.m., a response time of three minutes.

Other metro agencies assisting on this call include: Jackson County Fire District 3, Jackson County Fire District No 5, Jacksonville Fire, Mercy Flights, and Medford Police.
