During todays 1:00p news conference, an Oregon State Police (OSP) Trooper confirmed that former fugitive Benjamin Foster is believed to be involved in the murder of two Wolf Creek area men.

OSP reported that between 3:30p on 1/30/23 and 7:10a on 1/31/23, two men were murdered in their Wolf Creek area home. Richard Lee Barron Jr (born 1949) and Donald Owen Griffith (born 1958) were the two victims, according to OSP. Authorities say that both victims were believed killed by blunt force trauma.
“At this time, we do not have a connection between the suspect [Foster] and the victims”, remarked OSP. Meaning law enforcement investigators do not feel that Foster and the victims were acquaintances prior to the homicides.
The investigation is ongoing, but officials do not believe there is any other outstanding suspect in the double homicide.
Also today, Grants Pass Police confirmed that a tip from a cab driver helped authorities zero in on Fosters location yesterday, as he returned to the original crime scene. Here is the link to our live coverage of the news conference today.
Medford Alert will continue to monitor this incident and provide additional information as it becomes available.
