In honor of Rosa Parks courage and her fight for equality RVTD announced they will be reserving a seat on every bus during the week of January 30th through February 4th (Transit Equity Day).
Transit Equity Day is a national day of action to commemorate the birthday of Rosa Parks by declaring that public transit is a civil right. Ms. Parks, an iconic civil rights leader, refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, in protest to demand an end to segregation on transit systems.
From Monday, January 30th through Saturday, February 4th RVTD will be reserving a seat commemorating the courage of Rosa Parks.

Rosa Parks became an important figure in the Civil Rights era when she refused to give up her seat on a segregated Montgomery, Alabama public transit bus and was arrested in 1955.
