Firefighters Extinguish North Central Structure Fire

At approximately 12:46p today, ECSO dispatchers started to receive a number of 911 calls regarding a structure fire. The fire was located on the 1000 block of N.Central Ave.

Radio traffic indicated that a structure on the property was fully engulfed and at least one propane tank was near enough to the fire to be a concern to witnesses.

Upon arrival, the first fire units confirmed a structure that was actively on fire, additional fire units were inbound to assist. Medford Police closed N.Central Ave in the area to allow fire apparatus to work freely.

As of 1:03p, there were eight fire units on scene, working the incident.


1:30p UPDATE: Fire is contained, no current threat to surrounding structures or vegetation. Several fire units released. Three units remaining on scene to investigate and ensure safety. N.Central still has northbound lane affected.


FINAL UPDATE: All units have cleared. No injuries reported, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
