Winds Knock Out Power to Thousands in Medford Metro

Pacific Power is currently aware of a power outage in the Central Medford area around The Medford Center. As of 10:20a, there are approximately 65 customers without service.

Several major intersections on Crater Lake Ave, E.Jackson, and Biddle are impacted, and traffic control lights are out. Reports also say that power is out at a nearby Safeway, Rite Aid, and Starbucks.

Use caution if driving in the area. Pacific Power has crews assessing the damage. There is no current estimate for service restoration, as of 10:30a


10:50a Update: Approximately 2100 metro residents are now without power as wind gusts of over 54mph sweep through the valley


12:30p Update:Approximately 750 customers are still without power this afternoon. Winds are expected to continue into tomorrow morning.


5:30p Update: Power has been restored to all but about 60 residents in Jackson County at this time.
