A nationwide arrest warrant was issued for Caraballo for the charge of Murder in the Second Degree (Domestic Violence).

Caraballo was believed to have fled the Portland area, though officials say his last known address was within the Portland city limits. He also was known to have associates in Oregon, California and Mexico that could have aided any attempted escape.

However, yesterday, the murder suspect Jose Caraballo was arrested in Southern Oregon.

Portland Police Homicide Unit detectives were notified that on December 23, 2022 at about 2:00p.m., Central Point Police Department officers arrested Caraballo on his warrant for Murder in the Second Degree.

He was booked into the Jackson County Jail by CPPD officers. However, he will be transferred to Multnomah County at a later time.

No additional information was released at this time.

All suspects are considered innocent until any/all charges are proven true against them in a court of law.
