As of 9:45p, Caltrans reports that all northbound Interstate 5 vehicles at Fawndale Road (Shasta County) are currently being screened for chains to proceed northbound.
This is due to winter driving conditions further north on Interstate 5.
CHAINS OR SNOW TIRES ARE REQUIRED FROM 19 MI SOUTH OF DUNSMUIR TO 16 MI SOUTH OF DUNSMUIR.
CHAINS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT 4-WHEEL-DRIVE VEHICLES WITH SNOW TIRES ON ALL 4 WHEELS FROM 3 MI SOUTH OF DUNSMUIR TO DUNSMUIR.
