Widespread Wind, Rain, and Snow Expected to Impact Travel

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM WEDNESDAY TO 4 PM THURSDAY.

WHAT: Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 20 inches. Winds gusting at 30 to 50 mph over exposed higher terrain.

WHERE: South Central Oregon Cascades, Southern Oregon Cascades, and Siskiyous and includes Interstate 5 near Siskiyou Summit and portions of highways 62, 66, 138, 140, and 230.

WHEN: From 10 AM Wednesday to 4 PM Thursday.

IMPACTS: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Heaviest snow is expected Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning.

PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions. If you must travel, keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets, food, water, medications, and a fully charged phone with you.

The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.

A Winter Storm Warning means that severe winter weather is occurring, imminent and poses a threat to life and property. Take protective action now.
