Firefighters Rescue Trapped Victim During White City Fire

At approximately 11:28a today, multiple Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) and Jackson County Sheriffs Office (JCSO) units responded to a structure fire on the 8300 block of White Mountain Drive in White City.

Upon arrival, JCSO units reported a fully involved two story structure on fire. One person was trapped on the second floor and was attempting to leave via a window.

JCFD3 units arrived shortly afterwards and immediately used a ladder to access the trapped resident. Mercy Flights sent a ground ambulance to the scene to assist with any potential injuries. There is no current update on the victims condition.

JCSO was temporarily closed down Avenue G in the area as crews work this incident.

Shortly after 1p today, all firefighters cleared from the scene after extinguishing the blaze. A Fire Marshal is still investigating the fire at this time.
