Structure Fire in Phoenix Briefly Impacted Traffic

At approximately 10:05a this morning, ECSO 911 dispatchers received several calls regarding a possible structure fire on the 300 block of S. Rose St in Phoenix.

One caller stated flames and smoke inside the house. All occupants have reported been evacuated from the structure.

Multiple Jackson County Fire District 5 (JCFD5) and Medford Fire (MFD) units are on scene of the incident. Phoenix Police have closed a portion of S. Rose Street to allow firefighters to work the event.

UPDATE: Active firefight has ceased. Three units will remain on scene for mop up and investigation of the incident. Remaining fire units released. No reported injuries at this time. All personnel has cleared and all impacted roads are now open.


Jackson County Fire District 5 reports that the cause of the fire was most likely a heat source being used in a bedroom. There were no injuries.
