Highway 62 Police Pursuit Ends After Crash in North Medford

At approximately 6:24p tonight, multiple Jackson County Sheriff’s (JCSO) and Medford Police (MPD) units were in pursuit of a suspect on a motorcycle on OR62.

Radio traffic indicated that the suspect reached speeds as high as 105mph while attempting to elude officers along westbound OR62.

Shortly before 6:48p, the suspect was involved in a crash near OR62 at Kingsley. Debris was scattered along the westbound lanes and median of the highway.

MPD, JCSO, Medford Fire, and Mercy all responded to the crash. The rider of the motorcycle was conscious and breathing according to officers on scene.

As of 7:00p, police have all westbound lanes of OR62 closed at Vilas as crews tend to the injured suspect and clean up the scene.

Command confirms that this is not a Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team incident and they will not be activating them.

8:05p: All lanes are now open.
