Teen Driver Crashes Into Pedestrians Involved in Prior Accident on OR62

This is the latest from yesterdays article regarding this incident.

Yesterday afternoon, at 3:58p, Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3), Mercy Flights, and OSP responded to a serious injury, vehicle v. pedestrian crash near OR62 and Mountain View Road.

Authorities say a white Ford pickup was stopped on OR62 preparing to make a left turn onto Mountain View Road when it was rear ended by a red Nissan pickup.

The Ford pulled to the side of the road and while the owners were outside the vehicle exchanging information, a white Jeep rear-ended the Ford. The Jeep was driven by 19 year old Nathan Ray David Alatori Garcia of Eagle Point.

The two injured pedestrians are 66 year old Dean Loyd Callahan and 46 year old Aleide Flores of Eagle Point.

Both pedestrians suffered serious physical injuries and were transported to Medford area hospitals by Mercy ambulance.

The driver of the Jeep did not show signs of impairment. OSP was assisted by the STAR Team and Jackson County authorities. OSP remarks this case is open pending further investigation.

Crater Lake Highway (OR62) was closed down for several hours as crews worked to clear the crash and investigate the incident.

No additional information was released at this time.
