SWAT Arrests White City Man Accused of Child Sex Crimes

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies arrested a sex abuse suspect Tuesday night during a traffic stop on the 8300 block of Crater Lake Highway in White City. The driver was wanted in connection with sex abuse of a child. The suspect, Kim Jackson Dyer, 71, of White City, was charged with six counts of first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree attempted sodomy, and coercion. He is lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

JCSO Special Victims Unit (SVU) detectives began investigating Dyer after a juvenile victim came forward with allegations of sex abuse that occurred over a span of years. Detectives have reason to believe Dyer may have other child victims. If you have any information about the suspect and additional victims, call SVU Detective Lucas Tobias at (541) 774-8925.

JCSO SWAT team and Patrol deputies assisted detectives in serving a search warrant Wednesday morning at the suspect’s residence on the 4300 block of Avenue E in White City. Detectives utilized the SWAT team due to violent criminal history at the property.

Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team (SOCET) and Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force (SOHTCTF) assisted with the search of the residence and investigators seized digital devices. SOHTCTF will forensically examine the devices for evidence of child exploitation.

This case is under investigation with detectives working additional leads. Jackson County District Attorney’s office will prosecute this case.
