This is an update to the ongoing investigation into a large scale animal abuse and animal neglect case in Grants Pass and rural Josephine County. Link 1 & Link 2
The owner of a Grants Pass animal business which was raided last month has been arrested and charged with a number of crimes.
36 year old Joseph Larue, owner of Pawsitive K9 Solutions, has been arrested and charged with 37 criminal counts.
Out of the 37 total counts, 31 are felony charges. 26 of the charges are 2nd degree animal neglect. He is also facing several 1st degree theft charges, along with several crimes related to an illegal marijuana grow discovered on his property.
Deputies with the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office obtained and served a search warrant the suspects business on September 21st, 2022. Deputies and Animal Control Officers recovered 13 canines all at different levels of malnourishment. Some of the canines required immediate care from veterinarians.
A second raid was conducted on the suspects property in rural Josephine County shortly after. During that search, a number of animals were rescued, along with authorities discovering an illegal marijuana grow.
Larue is currently being held in the Josephine County Jail. No additional information is available at this time.
