The Grants Pass Police Department was advised all telecommunications fiberoptic cables affecting 911 calls have been repaired. Both landline and cellular calls to 911 should now be connected without delay.
If you cannot reach the dispatch center on your landline this evening, authorities say to call 911 from your cellular telephone.
The Josephine County dispatch center is currently experiencing difficulties with incoming calls due to fiberoptic lines being cut.
Repairs are in progress, but the completion time for the repairs are unknown. There appears to be no problems with incoming calls from cellular telephones.
Dispatchers and police officers are on duty and ready to respond.
Officials thank the public for their patience while the telecommunications company makes its repairs.
