Stepdaughter Stabs Stepmother During Dispute in Bend

On Friday Bend Police were called to the report of dispute in the 2000 block of NE Redbay Lane. As police were responding to the location, they learned that someone had been stabbed during the incident, and was being taken to the emergency room at St. Charles Medical Center. Officer responded to both locations to investigate the incident.

Police quickly determined the victim had been stabbed by her stepdaughter, Jaelene Lyman. Lyman was taken into custody by police at the home on NE Redbay Lane.

An investigation revealed that the victim and Lyman were both staying at the Redbay address and they got into a dispute. There was an additional dispute that led to Lyman stabbing the victim multiple times in the chest area. The victim was taken to St. Charles Medical Center for medical treatment. The injuries she sustained are serious and do not appear to be fatal at this time.

Lyman was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail and lodged.
