The skies in and around the Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport will be oddly quiet today and into tomorrow, as the airport closes its runway for upgrades and maintenance.
During these runway closures, the asphalt runway will be seal coated, the runway lighting converted to LED, and the electrical cabling replaced.
Officials say these are important projects designed to extend the life of the runway pavement and also will reduce energy consumption and costs.
