STAR Team Activated Due to Serious Crash Involving Motorcycle

At approximately 7:30a this morning, Medford Fire (MFD) and Medford Police (MPD) personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Delta Waters and Springbrook in NE Medford for a reported vehicle vs motorcycle crash.

Area of Crash

Upon arrival, the MFD crew called for a Mercy unit Code 3 (highest priority). A single MPD unit was on scene directing traffic as well.

Medford Alert arrived on scene minutes after MFD crews began treating the motorcycle rider. There were two additional non-uniformed officers assisting the marked MPD unit with traffic control. The intersection is typically busy with morning commuters taking children to the various schools in the area and the nearby North Medford High School.

There was a single person, believed to be the motorcycle rider on the ground, approximately 10-15ft east of the motorcycle. The bike was leaned against a black sedan that made impact. At this time, there is only believed to be a single injured individual.

At approximately 8:09a, the Medford Police announced that they had activated their STAR Team for this crash. The specialized team is used in serious crashes were there are life-threatening injuries or fatalities. At this time, the condition of the motorcyclist is unknown.

There are substantial impacts to Springbrook Rd, between Cedar Links roundabout and Delta Waters. West/East traffic on Delta Waters is also being detoured due to the crash. Traffic control has been handed over to the City of Medford’s Quick Response Team (QRT).

11:30a UPDATE: The intersection has been cleared and is now reopen to traffic.
