Early this morning, at approximately 2:22am, Keizer Police officers were dispatched to 3222 Mayfield Place North on a report of a gunshot wound.
The home was occupied by a single owner who woke up to someone inside the residence.
The owner fired his weapon striking the home invader who was pronounced deceased on scene.
Police say the investigation to ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
