Medford Fire and Police Working E.McAndrews Area Greenway Fire

At approximately 5:45p today, ESCO 911 operators began receiving multiple calls of a fire off E.McAndrews Rd along the Bear Creek Greenway.

Upon arrival, Medford Police (MPD) had several witnesses describe at least two male transients who were seen running from fire. As MPD searched for the potential arsonists, arriving Medford Fire personnel began gearing up.

The largest portion of the fire was estimated to be around 1/10 of an acre, however winds did start a number of small spot fires.

When Medford Alert arrived on scene, several firefighters were attempting to stop forward movement of the fire.

6:55p UPDATE: Mop-up is complete. All units now have cleared. No current threat to surrounding structures or vegetation.

7:25p UPDATE: Medford Police have apprehended two males believed to involved in this fire. No additional information is available at this time.
