Crews Working Southbound I5 Wildfire Near Mile 37

Multiple fire agencies are currently on scene of a grass fire near mile 37 on the southbound I5. The fire is estimated to be between 1/2 acre and 3/4 acre at this time. It was first called in at approximately 11:49a

If traveling in the area, be aware traffic may be impacts as fire personnel attempt to extinguish the flames.

There are no current evacuations for any surrounding neighborhoods.

ODF has sent a Type II helicopter to assist from their Table Rock Rd station.

The fire is now wet-lined and under control. Fire personnel will continue to mop up the site for the next few hours. Expect continued impacts to the southbound 5 in the area for the time being.
