On 07-08-2022, Detectives and officers with the Grants Pass Police arrested 45 year old William Richardson for several charges in relation to a child luring case that detectives worked.
Richardson was contacted and arrested after he agreed to meet with a 15 year old female for the purposes of having a sexual encounter. Richardson was arrested without incident and lodged in the Josephine County Jail on the listed charges.
The Grants Pass Police want to remind parents to be aware of any unusual activity happening with their children who are on social media. These types of cases are being referred to agencies more often and authorities encourage parents to be aware and be involved with the individuals who are interacting with kids.
In this case, GPPD were able to prevent any abuse or harm to any children, but prevention by parents, family and friends is always more impactful and effective.
