ODF, Fire District 3 and Lake Creek firefighters have stopped the Yankee Creek Fire, located on the 700 block of Yankee Creek road, Eagle Point to the northeast of Agate Lake County Park.
Firefighters have extinguished all active fire and are starting mop-up operations. It was caught at an estimated half-acre.
The cause will be under investigation. ODF sent a number of engines and a Type 3 helicopter with a Helitack crew. Officials say thankfully, not all of these resources were needed.
Be aware- despite the recent rain, fuels are dry and fires can still start and spread.
