Jackson County FD3 Provides Insight to Eagle Point Structure Fire

Here is the LINK to our article regarding the wildland portion of the firefight.

On June 30th, 2022 Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3) crews were alerted of a structure fire on the 3900 block of East Antelope Road.

Through the Alert Wildfire cameras on Long Mountain, crews were able to determine this was a working two story structure fire on a residential home and call for additional resources.

Crews from Fire District 3, ODF Southwest Oregon District , Medford Fire Department, and Lake Creek Fire were on scene.

All occupants were evacuated and the structure was fully involved. The fire spread to one quarter of an acre to the surrounding vegetation. The resident had created defensible space around the structure preventing further spread into the steep terrain.

The cause of this fire is under investigation.

The resident is a user of Fire District 3’s Community Connect platform which helped crews get quick insight on their way to the scene.

With the holiday weekend here, JCFD3 would like to remind everyone to stay vigilant to the hot and dry conditions while celebrating.
