At approximately 4:02p, multiple Rogue River Fire (RRFD) and other metro fire departments were dispatched to the 400 block of Nugget Drive in the city of Rogue River, for a possible structure fire.

Before crews arrived, a Fire Spotter confirmed a column of smoke could be seen from the area.
Arriving fire personnel found a fully engulfed, single story house on fire. Concerned that the fire could spread uncontrollably to surrounding lands, ODF was called in to assist.
Once on scene, ODF personnel began working the portion of the fire that has spread to grasses.
Fire crews quickly got the upper hand on the fire and stopped fired movement at approximately 1/2acre. An ODF Type II helicopter was activated from its Table Rock Rd Base for air recon. ODF crews from Josephine County were also on scene assisting in firefighting efforts.

This is the third structure fire ODF has responded to following fire spread to the wildland in the last 24 hours. Authorities say this shows how dry fuels currently are and how easily fire can
spread, especially in the heat of the day.

As of 5:00p, six fire units were still on scene working the structure fire itself. No cause of the fire is available at this time. There have been no reported injuries at this time. However, this is still an active incident, we will update once more information is available.
