One Dead After Motorcycle Involved Collision on Crater Lake Ave

This is a developing story, we will continue to update as more information becomes available.

At approximately 10:40p tonight, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 600 block of Crater Lake Ave for a reported traffic collision. This is in front of Weldons Cleaners.

Medford Police units were first on scene and reported a black motorcycle had collided with a pedestrian on the roadway. Medford Fire units arrived shortly after and were not able to save the individual who was hit. They were pronounced dead on scene. The deceased individual has not been named by authorities at this time.

The motorcycle rider was being treated at the scene for serious injuries. Once a Mercy Flights ambulance arrived, personnel transported the injured individual to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. At this time, the condition of the motorcyclist is unknown.

The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team has been activated and are working the incident.

All Crater Lake Ave traffic were closed between Spring Street and Stevens for an extended period overnight. Lanes in the area have now been reopened.
