Yesterday, Medford Fire’s State HazMat Team responded to a semi truck that hit a tree on Hwy 62.
They were requested after the discovery of an unknown substance was leaking from a tractor trailer.
The team used specialty equipment to test the liquid to determine it was transmission fluid. Upon further investigation, it was determined no other hazards were found.
The leak was determined to be around a gallon before it was contained. The driver was transported to a local hospital and is recovering.
