Interstate 5 drivers can expect several miles of single lane traffic each direction south of Ashland beginning this Friday.

Through late May, contractor Carter and Company will replace the concrete southbound right lane between mileposts 8 and 9. Both northbound and southbound traffic will be channeled into a single lane each direction. Watch for construction zone speed limit of 40 mph.
Drivers should expect delays and slow traffic in the area while the contractor makes the needed repairs.
This is the last season of a $35 million repair project on the interstate between the California border and Ashland. Other project work scheduled between now and the end of July includes asphalt shoulder paving, recessed pavement markers and final, permanent striping.
Other work added to this project includes the construction of six electronic variable message and speed signs for the Siskiyou Summit corridor. They will become operational later this year.
