Metro Wind Advisory in Effect Until 10p Tonight

  • South to southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
  • Interstate 5 south of Gold Hill, including the cities of Eagle Point, White City, Medford, Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, and Jacksonville.
  • Until 10PM this evening.
  • Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
  • Winds are expected to be strongest between 1 pm and 6 pm.

Moderate to strong winds are expected to occur across portions of southern Oregon and northern California Saturday morning into Sunday morning.

These winds will become strong along the coast, especially at and south of Cape Blanco, the Shasta Valley, and the East Side, especially along highway 31 from Paisley to Summer Lake and highway 140 east of Lakeview.

Travel on Interstate 5 as well as highways, 31, 97, 101, 140, and 395 could become difficult—particularly for high profile vehicles. Remember to slow down and use extra caution when driving. Additionally, there may be isolated cases of downed trees or power lines.

Furthermore, blowing snow may reduce visibilities around Crater Lake and Diamond Lake areas. Finally, loose objects may be blown away or damaged due to the winds.
