Oregon Teen Dead After DUII Rollover Crash

On March 5, 2022 at about 2:11 am Yamhill County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an unknown problem in the 20800 block of NW Panther Creek Road in rural Carlton. A resident in the area called 911 after hearing someone yelling for help.

Responding deputies arrived along with personnel from Carlton Fire Department, Yamhill Fire Department, and McMinnville Fire Department. They discovered a single vehicle rollover motor vehicle crash had occurred and four occupants had been in the vehicle.

One of the passengers, 19-year-old Zakery Baumgardner of Lafayette, OR was deceased at the scene.

The driver and two other passengers were transported via ambulance to area hospitals. The crash was investigated by Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and a crash scene reconstruction was done with the assistance of the Oregon State Police.

Based on evidence obtained and information developed through the investigation, the driver of the involved vehicle was identified 25-year-old Jacob Doctor, of Carlton, OR.

After receiving medical treatment, Mr. Doctor was lodged in the Yamhill County Correctional Facility on charges of DUII, Manslaughter 2nd Degree, Reckless Driving, and Recklessly Endangering Another (x3 counts). His security release amount at this time is $185,000.
